Virtually all the pictures you find on Flickr or Google Image are copyrighted images, even if they don't say so.  So, when you use a photograph you found on the internet in a presentation or paper, you must make sure to only use images that are not copyrighted or you must use images you have been given permission to use.  This isn't as difficult as it sounds.  Many websites offer pictures that are available for anyone to use and reuse.  Here are a few of those sites, with instructions on how to find your own free to use pictures!

Google Images

images.google.com - Click on "Advanced Image Search" and enter your search words in the top box on the page.  Then go down to "Usage Rights" and select "labeled for reuse" from the drop down menu.  Finally, click "Google Search".

Flickr

www.flickr.com/commons - Here you can search for professional pictures from different institutions that have contributed to the site.  Simply perform your search!

www.flickr.com/creativecommons - Here you can find pictures that Flickr users have created.  Each group of pictures will tell you how you can use them.

Pics 4 Learning

www.pics4learning.com - This website has free pictures submitted by students, teachers, and photographers.  Use the links to find what you're looking for.

Wikimedia Commons

commons.wikimedia.org - Another great website full of free pictures.  You can search by topic or keyword.
