Citing Your Work

Lego Research
The Source of Wisdom
It is important to always cite your work when writing an academic paper. Not citing your work is called “plagiarism” and can lead to bad grades, suspension, being kicked out of school, or even being sued in certain cases. Citing your work means giving credit where credit is due. This means that all the ideas you turn in need to be your own unless you have given the original author credit. In this section you will find resources on how to cite your work, when to cite your work, how and when to paraphrase, and you will also learn about copyrighted pictures. Let's get started!
